The pronghorn is called an antelope, but it is not related to the antelope of Africa. It is the fastest land animal in North America.

Speed and eyes
Pronghorn can cruise the prairie at more than 35 miles per hour and sprint at nearly 60. Their large eyes pick up movement at great distances.

Horns
Pronghorn shed and regrow the outer sheath of their horns every year, unlike true horned animals.
Sonoran pronghorn
The Sonoran pronghorn of Arizona and Mexico has been protected under the Endangered Species Act since 1967.
